Artist Statement-

Born in the dead and dark south, Syyn or Miss Cynthia as I am most affectional called by many, spent my entire youth on the move and I bashingly blame living like a gyspy in such places as Cincy, Bregenz and southern Germany, as well as and most noted on the lake land of Kentucky and Tennessee for all my afflictions, bad habits and unigue grammar I am so loved for. From my earliest memories I have obsessed with the creation of the weird, the monstrous, and the beautiful or the spiritual side of life. Some would say I bathed in it in study and in practice. I have been a freelance fine artist as long as a can remember. That has been a both a blessing and a curse.

I am currently kept in a dank and dim attic where Nat, my mann, feeds me and cares for my hermit like ways with much ado in the muck of Ashland, KY. There "we lives precious" on spiders and bad local cuisine (jk about the spiders). When not eating our bugs with the bogeys in our attic , we are ever writing, painting, and trying to reach a happy co-existence with the rowdy and ever drug affected community of our small eastern Kentucky town as the many demons dancing about their heads make horrible faces at us and won't invite us to dinner.
